SeaPort NxG

About SeaPort-e

In response to declining budgets, the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and its Warfare Centers, which are responsible for the acquisition of all US Navy ship and shipboard systems, targeted a reduction in the cost of services for its headquarters Directorates, Program Executive Offices (PEOs) and field activities. On 5 April 2004, a new set of MACs were awarded to 151 new MAC holders in a program called SeaPort Enhanced (SeaPort-e).

SeaPort is currently the Department of the Navy’s (DON’s) mandatory vehicle for procurement of Professional Support Services (PSS) and refers to both a set of IndefiniteDelivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) MultipleAward Contracts (MACs) and also an electronic platform to solicit, award and administer task orders. All task orders are competitively solicited, awarded and administered using the SeaPort portal. SeaPort consists of two versions, SeaPort Enhanced (Seaport-e) and Seaport Next Generation (Seaport NxG), which are separate sets of MACs utilizing the same electronic platform utilizing separate portals. Seaport provides an efficient and effective means of contracting for professional support services and enhancing small business participation.

NAVSEA has awarded multiple Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts for a wide range of engineering, technical, and programmatic services and solutions for the Virtual SYSCOM (NAVSEA, NAVAIR, NAVSUP, SPAWAR, Strategic Systems Program (SSP), NAVFAC) as well as Commander, Naval Installations (CNI) and the US Marine Corps. Dahlgren is the Seaport-e Contracting Office; however, each activity will release their own RFPs.
