- Serves as a member of System Safety Working Groups for weapon delivery systems, primarily as the lead assistant to the Principal for Safety
- Develops and reviews safety documentation and ensures compliance with MIL-STD-882
- Develops hazard risk assessments and defines risk mitigation processes
- Develops and maps safety requirements to design requirements
- Serves as a subject matter expert at Weapon System Explosives Safety Review Boards (WSESRB) and Software Systems Safety Technical Review Panel (SSSTRP)
- Conducts safety testing to verify hazard mitigation
- Integrates Environmental, Safety & Health (ESH) requirements
